A Sedation Dentist in Anaheim Can Make Your Dental Visit More Comfortable

As a sedation dentist in Anaheim, we can provide you with the dental care you need in a way that is more comfortable than traditional methods.  Typically, when someone needs dental care, they visit a dentist and may or may not receive medication while undergoing a procedure.  As a result, many people have a negative experience that can lead to long-term dental phobias.  In our office, we have the solution – sedation.

If you are concerned about having your teeth cleaned, a cavity treated, or the dreaded root canal – you don’t have to worry when visiting our office.  We are gentle and perform every procedure in a way that will keep you relaxed and comfortable, regardless of how intense the procedure is.  One of the ways that we do so is with modern tools.

As a sedation dentist in Anaheim, we realize that each of our patients is different, and so are their health concerns.  For you, it may be anxiety that is causing the issue while, for other patients, they may get a procedure that has the potential for causing discomfort.  Therefore, the range of sedation types is wide and based on the patient and what the procedure actually involves.  In many cases, we have found, that our patients only need oral sedation or nitrous oxide in order to relax.  Since the procedure itself doesn’t cause discomfort, this is enough to enable patients to have a pleasant experience.

If, however, you are having a dental procedure like getting dental veneers or have an infection being treated, we will also provide you with localized pain medication that numbs the specific area we are working on.  By taking a light sedative first, this will be a pleasant experience, rather than something to fear, as is common when a needle is involved.  This additional level of anesthesia will ensure that you are completely comfortable while the dental work is being performed. You may feel a level of pressure, but that’s all.  In the majority of cases, our patients feel that this is all that is needed to have a positive dental appointment.

When performing oral surgery, we will often use a stronger method of sedation and put patients to sleep.  Since this is not necessary in most cases, we reserve it for situations like placing dental implants or gum surgery.  In these situations, the procedure itself can be longer, and patients tend to feel more uncomfortable simply from holding still for so long.  This is an easy way to ensure that everything goes smoothly.  As a sedation dentist in Anaheim, we have the skills and expertise to administer whatever level of sedation is necessary to ensure that your procedure goes smoothly and that you have a positive experience.  If you are concerned or have anxiety, we invite you to schedule an appointment so that we can discuss what your options are and the best way to proceed with your dental work. Together, we can create a plan that will keep you healthy and relaxed.
